Hi everyone, I actually wanted to take this week off while I’m busy getting ready for our big trip down to LA (I’ll be taking next week off as well, but will have something special to share before then).
But in the light of yesterday’s news about the tragic passing of Jamie Tiller, the DJ and co-founder of Music From Memory, I wanted to share a couple selections from the label. MFM, as stated back in Edition No. 3, has been a life-changing label for me. The new universes of music that the crew over there has shared with the world is astonishing.
Jamie was an incredibly beloved individual with incredible taste and, from what I can gather from the people who loved him the most, a deeply genuine and funny individual. While we never got the chance to cross paths, I’m incredibly grateful for what he put into the world.
Jamie’s legacy will live on through the music he shared with us, and his extensive collection of mixes and radio shows is proof of that. People will be discovering new music from them for years and years to come. What a special legacy to leave behind.
My heart goes out to his family, and all his friends, who are feeling the pain of his loss the most right now.
Rest In Peace, Jamie. Thank you for sharing so much with the world.
I also highly suggest that you spend some time with Jamie’s mixes. His ability to mix across genres, and unearth hidden gems was remarkable.
Thanks for reading, see you in a couple weeks.
