It’s Friday, it’s summer, it’s time to Enjoy Music baby.
Look, I understand that you’re all here to hear about The Latest, And Hottest Tracks, Burning Up DJs Sticks Across The Globe. But we’re looking backwards (again) to Enjoy Music From The Past. There’s some beautiful cuts here, trust me.
Anyways, we’re keeping this intro short and sweet today. I am in the middle of working on like four of five different projects, and as much as I would love to Go On about The Balearic Mindset, and all that, we’re keeping it tight today.
You know what to do! Enjoy!
Tony Esposito - Pagaia (1987)
Tony Esposito, Enjoy Music Hall Of Famer, back with another absolute beauty. I truly do celebrate his entire catalog. Go back in the Enjoy Music archives to dive into some of his other gems (Conga Radio specifically).
Mike Francis - This Love (1984)
This is one of those songs that makes you think: Italy and Spain really aren’t that far from each other!
Powerline - Double Journey (1980)
Credit where credit’s due: I first heard this one in the legendary Nu Genea Dekmantel set. There’s a lot of special moments in that set, but as soon as the bass kicked in, it was over.
Stephen Encinas - Lypso Illusion (1979)
I had the immense pleasure of strolling into the original Invisible City location in Toronto back in 2017, and walked away with a handful of life-changing discs. Including their re-issue of this classic! Of course, the heads already know, but never forget, we don’t discriminate here — wherever you may be on your musical journey, we’re happy to either help you discover something new, or remind you of something great. This one still possesses some serious magic!
Parachute - Mystery Of Asian Port (1980)
I love that this video is hosted on the Pacific Rhythm youtube account. Shout out Derek and, former Enjoy Music Guest, Early! Anyways, this is a light-chug classic, with just enough cheese, and just enough psychedelia, that it can work in a multitude of different listening situations.
Enjoy Music On The Radio!
Back with another week of radio shows/guest mixes that I think will improve your life in a deeply significant way. Get into it:
Pender Street Steppers (June 26, 2024) (NTS)
The boys came through with two hours of dance music on this month’s episode, and what a journey it is. Get Ready To Go Deep!
CC:DISCO Essential Mix (BBC)
One of the best DJs in the world, hands down, blesses us with two hours of incredible boogie, house and disco selections, through one of the most legendary platforms. You simply love to see it! This one is all smiles the whole way through.
Beautiful Swimmers Live at PR (June 21, 2024) (NTS)
The Swimmers gift us with two hours of power, live at, in my humble opinion, the best club in North America. This recording is imbued with the magic of the room, and if you’ve ever been on that dancefloor, you can almost see the lights above you when you listen.
Rhythm Section Radio w/ Bradley Zero (June 26, 2024) (NTS)
I made a meme about it this week, but truly, when I see that Balearic House tag on NTS, I get unreasonably stoked. This one’s got it, and of course you know every episode of Rhythm Section Radio is going to be good, so it’s a true win-win. Shout out BZ, truly one of my favourite DJs on Planet E.
Xiaolin - Test Pressing Mix #528
No embed for this one, but please, do yourself a favour and click through to not only listen to this new mix from Xiaolin, but to dive DEEP into the Test Pressing mix archive. Cause MY GOODNESS, there’s a lot of good mixes there.
IN TEEN DAZE NEWS: We’re a couple weeks out from the new album announcement, another new single, and a new music video. I got work to do, I’m out of here!
Oh, but before I go: If you live in the Lower Mainland, I’ll be opening up for Song Of The Summer candidates Flamingo Pier, at the LEGENDARY, Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver. I’ll be DJing, warming up the dancefloor for the guys. Tickets are on sale right now! It’s going to be an incredibly fun, positive night! Come have an early evening dance!
Okay, love yall, see you next week!
